Oh Reader is a magazine about reading, and intended for book readers. They run three editions per year, and I was so excited I got to do this year Summer version, Issue No. 12. They contacted me, and wanted a playful but chill scene with one or two characters reading while on a beach.
I always start by doing some rough thumbnail sketches, and rough color placements. The Client had sent me a color palette, but I suggested another one that could reflect more the summer concept they were looking for. The color palette proposed was more vibrant and warm.
